The french open is now in full swing as the men's bracket closes in on the finals. This tournament has shed light on a possible upcoming star. Seeded #13 in the world, the Frenchman Gael Monfils dropped out of the tournament with a knee injury before is started leaving a place for a belgian seeded #22 who had not qualified for Roland Garros this year. David Goffin started his run in the French open only because on Gael's injury and has made a fantastic run so far making it all the way to the round of 16 where he will have to take on his childhood hero, Roger Federer #3.
As well as new players, there are also the players who have been at this tournament for years on end. The #2 in the world, Rafael Nadal, has not yet been challenged in any of his matches. Being arguably the best player on clay ever, he has been champion at this grand-slam 6 times, a record breaking amount for the Spaniard. This tennis great is on track to not be challenged until the finals where he will most likely be playing the #1 in the world, Novak Djokivic, who scraped by a fourth round win defeating Andreas Seppi in 5 sets.
